Jun 10, 2008 · I am not yet a 100% sure if this means time warner is going to block access to third party usenet services, or if they are going to completely block access to Usenet by blocking Port 119 that the service runs on. If the block access to Port 119 then this turns into a net neutrality issue among other things. Starting last Thursday 10/20/16 I noticed that I wasn't getting emails from my time warner cable email address. It had been working fine until that point. If it connect to the internet through a TWC router or my AT&T hot spot I can get twc emails and access mail.twc.com just fine. Even if your e-mail program states that 587 is one of the “default” ports, it works best to choose to specifically designate port 587. That should fix your outgoing SMTP access issues.
